privacyIDEA Summit 2024 in Kassel
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the moment had finally arrived: NetKnights GmbH hosted its first privacyIDEA Summit. Customers from all over Germany and Austria followed the invitation and met for a day full of exciting discussions about privacyIDEA, multi-factor authentication and current IT security topics in Kassel.
There was already a relaxed atmosphere in the morning when the participants of the privacyIDEA Summit arrived. After a welcome by Cornelius Kölbel and Isabelle Mühlhausen, the program began with two expert talks.
First, Markus Rothmeyer introduced us to the world of Single Sign-On (SSO). He explained in detail how SSO simplifies user administration and increases security at the same time.
Cornelius then presented a detailed insight into the topic of hardware tokens. He introduced different types of hardware tokens, discussed their advantages and disadvantages and showed possible applications in different corporate environments.A special highlight of the morning was the presentation of the new version 3.10 of privacyIDEA by our development team leader. He presented the new functionalities and improvements of privacyIDEA, namely token containers, the possibility to use WebAuthnOffline and an extended PUSH functionality.
After an intensive and knowledge-loaded morning, it was time for a well-deserved break. Lunch was the perfect opportunity to network. In a relaxed atmosphere, contacts were made, experiences shared and the impressions of the morning discussed.
Refreshed, the afternoon was spent in an interactive discussion round. The focus here was on the interests and questions of our customers. Everyone had the opportunity to suggest topics and discuss them with the speakers, the NetKnights team and other participants. This open session promoted a valuable exchange and offered exciting insights into the practical challenges and solutions in the field of IT security. Both specific technical issues and strategic considerations were discussed in detail.
At the end of the day, we drew a positive conclusion. The first privacyIDEA Summit was not only a platform for knowledge transfer, but also a place for exchange between NetKnights and customers. The committed participation of all attendees contributed to the success and the pleasant atmosphere of the event.
